This Privacy Policy describes how PumpFragen ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the PumpFragen mobile application and website (together, the "Service").
Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a username, and a password. Passwords are stored only in securely hashed form — we never store or have access to your plain-text password.
Study content and activity. We store the content you create and interact with in the app, including:
- Flashcard decks you create (names, descriptions, and the questions saved to them)
- Questions you contribute to the question bank
- Ratings you submit (yield and difficulty) and questions you flag
- Saved search preferences
Technical data. Our servers process standard request data (such as IP address and request logs) as needed to operate and secure the Service. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and keep you signed in
- To sync your decks, saved questions, and study progress across sessions
- To operate community features such as the shared question bank and ratings
- To send service communications, such as password reset messages and important account notices
- To maintain the security and reliability of the Service
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Service and App-Update Emails
We may email account holders when reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, or communicate important changes to the Service. These messages may include password resets, security alerts, service availability or maintenance notices, legal or policy updates, and significant app or feature changes.
These are operational communications rather than promotional marketing. Because they may be necessary to provide or protect your account and the Service, you may receive them while your account is active and they cannot be disabled through marketing preferences. We do not currently use your email address to send promotional offers, discount codes, affiliate promotions, or advertisements for third-party products.
How We Share Information
We share information only with service providers needed to run the Service:
- Hosting and database providers, which store account and study data on our behalf
- Email delivery provider, used to send password reset, support, security, service-status, and app-update emails. The provider may process your email address and delivery information for these communications.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of PumpFragen or its users.
Data Retention
We retain your account information and study content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
Your Rights
You may access and update your account information in the app. You may request a copy of your data or request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@pumpfragen.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA), and we will honor valid requests accordingly.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for medical students, residents, and healthcare professionals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
